Career
“I started hustling from 2018. Although I wrote my first lyrics back in 2014, signifying the happenings of a hostel life, I released my first song in 2020. I still reminisce about my first song which is titled Gotsudai.”
Inspiration
“I recollect the memory of my first friends who were a constant source of support and motivation. In this very moment, i believe my supporters provide constructive feedback and this fuels me to do better each time. Friends and family who listen to my music are my pillar of support. I believe that there are many underrated artists out there in Bhutan who don’t get enough recognition and sincerely feels this needs to change. I believe that art is more important than the artist. Therefore, even if i hate someone personally but the person produces an exquisite product, i respect their art. Additionally, i feel that there are many artists which inspire me and not any one, in particular.”

How you got into music?
“As I mentioned earlier, I wrote my first lyrics at 2014. I wasn’t really engaged in music at that time. I was unaware about what future held for me. I can firmly state that class 11 was a game changer for me. My good friend, Pema Tobden aka Toby raps exceptionally well. He used to rap frequently and he instilled in me the basics of rapping. I wrote some lyrics and asked him for his feedback. He was genuinely impressed and I even wrote Dzongkha lyrics for him on his idol MGK’s track. Ever since that day, there has been no going back. The thirst to emerge as a force to be reckoned with, in the rap game, was an idea-too beautiful to even think about it. “
What’s next for you?
“I’ll never stop composing music, it would be my life time priority. Why? Well, it’s a rhetorical question.

Because it makes me happy and contented. However, I can’t only do that because it’s a challenge to earn money through music in Bhutan. I work in the farm and try to support my parents because they are everything to me. I won’t let their support and blessings get washed down into the gutter. I witness many people neglect their parents during their old age. This is a sad scene in a Dharma Nation like Bhutan, which needs to be curbed and nipped in the bud. I will always keep my parents before my passion. Having said this, I will continue to put effort into my passion as well. I believe a perfect balance needs to be harmonized and I am bent to achieve that. “

When do you write songs?
“Usually I write songs during night time since during day I gotta work. When I’m free during daytime, i write as well.
To be honest, I don't have any specific time to write. Whenever I'm free I get engaged in my music.”
What is one message you would give to our upcoming rap artist ?
“I'm also an upcoming artist here so it is almost like looking in the mirror and building my own self esteem. “Welcome to Bhutanese Hiphop.
Be yourself. The word YOU remains U without Y and O also. You can remove Y and O but never misplace it. It sounds different.
Takecare.”
If you get chance ,Who you want to make collaboration?
“As I mentioned earlier, I get inspired by many artists. If someone embarks a positive vibe with his song, I will be happy to collaborate.
Rather than collaborating with the people who are already famous, I would choose to collaborate with an underrated artist. We got many in Bhutan.

Experience.
“Based on my knowledge, I believe it is vital to have good social capital or social links infielder to gain fame and prove one’s worth as an artist. People hardly recognize actual talent. I believe I’m underrated too. I do not want to boast but I know my one capability. There are many underrated artists on the verge of losing hope and eventually killing their own musical dreams. Support them and validate their perseverance and effort. “

Challenges.
“YouTube is the biggest platform for all. It requires many viewers and subscribers. People who have good links eventually land up succeeding, despite the fact that their end product isn’t convincing. This is an unsaid fact until date and yeah, I needed to take it off my chest. There are plenty of good songs being ignored. Support each and everyone. That would be the way forward, for Bhutanese Hip Hop. Moreover, people are more into other genres than Hiphop in Bhutan. Our creativity should ooze ingeniously so that we can grab everyone’s attention. The hustle is hard in Bhutan, mainly due to financial problem. Young hip hop artists do not have money and their talent often goes unnoticed. What they need to do is keep persisting and never giving up on their dreams through constant practice and commitment. “We are all here to smile and never to get hurt.”

Some lines for you brother(token of appreciation from Amix HipHop Bhutan)
You have a positive attitude towards life and this kind of attitude will motivate many more artists to come onto the scene. At least you are trying to appreciate each and every artist. This would definitely be a good opportunity for other artists to speak from their hearts and share their opinions. Go on brother, you will do great.
Appreciated. You will be remembered.
