Kado: The beginning

“I was in grade eight when I first started rapping. I remember that moment when everyone used to ignore my work. Even in social media, I never received comments that actually pushed me forward to continue existing in this rap game. I created my own solace and that is a four lettered word-“hope”! I didn’t lose hope! I made a strong resolve of not deciding to record until my mind guided me and told, “You are ready! “”

In life, everyone gets a breakthrough to identify a magical moment and make the most out of it. If you didn’t get a chance to grab with both hands, do not fret! Your time will come, for sure. The protagonist of this story, Kado, had his breakthrough moment too.

Kado: The dilemma

“I wanted to join the competition but my father didn’t acknowledge this decision. Luckily, my mother had to take my sister to Wangdue hospital because she was sick. My mom took me along with her but she dropped me to Thimphu. She then moved towards Bajo.
I just had Nu 500 inside my pocket. That was just sufficient for the entry fees of Gokab.”

“It might be hard for some of you to believe but believe me on this. I didn’t have any relatives at Thimphu those days. So, I slept on the street for the night and the next day, I went and put up a show. Guess what? I won the competition.”
