Tshewang Dorjee AKA Drukpathug (21 years old) shares his story .

My name is  Tshewang Dorjee AKA Drukpathug (21 years old). I am an undergraduate of BA in Bhutanese and Himalayan Studies, College of Language and Culture Studies.

I started rapping after I graduated my high school days as it was from then that I started to aquire few amount of money barely enough to record the songs officially.

Like others at first I had no interest in rapping but you know how things change every now and then.

The motive behind rapping is I want to heal my heart and take care of myself so that I can face the hard reality of life. I believe everyone is broken inside and its the same with me. I seriously want to sing a song for those people who have got a bitter experience in love relationship.

Almost all go through failure in relationship and I believe that my heart has been tortured a lot and the past moments keeps on haunting me. Thats the reason why I rap and now it seems like I just can't imagine my life without hip hop.

I recorded my first Hip-hop in 2018 before joining college in HomeStudio known as Nge KhamZem, then Khandom (Angel) and My broken Heart.

Aftet that I have three songs which I recorded on my own.

Ngu Joni May, Lo Matay and Nge Aro garo.

None of the above have turned out to be a hit because in our country if you wanna get popular, you gotta have money, which I don't have as of now but I am trying.

I started a crew of my own known as Drukpa Rapper based in Wangdue, Bajo in the year 2018. There is four of us. I am hoping that with time we will be recognised and our work will be appreciated.

No matter what my motive is to heal those hearts which are broken as same as mine. People ask me why I rap so I tell them they should listen to my rap and figure it out by themselves.

Coming to diss, I don't want to do it.(It does not do any good)

In the future I plan to open my studio. At the moment I am gradually learning about recording set up and instruments on my own though YouTube.

It's going to be difficult but I shall always try.

Thank you for sharing your story with us ,Keep going and work hard.

Best Regards and Wishes to you.
